Grand Spanish gates open to an enchanting jewel of abundant flora and tranquil hospitality.

Walking the grounds, my ears fill with the buzz of a rich and fertile world. There are treasures to be found here, in its expansive grounds, rare plantings, and undiscovered passageways. A special gathering spot appears under ‘The Orchard’, where a long table is enveloped by fig, persimmon and star fruit trees. The homeowner, a studying horticulturist, is happiest here, tending to her oasis of plenty — in the property’s extensive, working gardens and lush settings. (link to story) Just through the courtyard, a sanctuary of weathered fountains, and oversized branches drape over your welcome.

A grand beveled-glass door opens to coved ceilings, framing dense garden views, bathed in afternoon light. The house, is comfortably dressed with collected treasures from extensive travels, along with the homeowner’s collection of fine art and cherished items. More recent additions summon a Spanish Colonial tenor — Tuscan plaster, iron registers, and wood casings with hand-carved leaves, paying homage to the property’s flora. Custom iron railings were added, along with roundel stained-glass windows, bringing jeweled light into the spiraled staircase. The home’s parquet flooring was stained a warm honey, ceiling heights were expanded, and glass transoms open up the space, provoking warmth and a grand sense of heritage.

Casa del Tesoro’s final voice is fertile, honoring the life that grows and unfolds here — both in flora and all who reside — The Lyric of PlaceTM
